In 'Broken Bits of Pieces' the medium of the slide
projection is deconstructed with the constituting elements of the
slide, the light source and the projected image becoming equivalent
components of the work. The work itself is divided between the original
slide and its representation (the projected image), as well as between
the supporting structure and the subject of the image.
A mirroring effect is generated through the positioning of actual mirrors within
the work, which is intensified not only by the mirrored projection produced by
the slide itself but also by the doubling of the slides and the effect of inverted-mirroring.
These "slide-objects" function similarly to a kaleidoscope: the unusual viewing
point of the shots of the interior spaces, the asymmetricality of the angles
and positioning of the slides as well as the distortion of the projected image
create an impression of fragmentation and instability.
